Chapel composition premieres at centenary concert

A composition commissioned to celebrate the centenary of the University chapel will be premiered at a special concert for staff, students and the public on Friday 5 June.

Hit movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ comes to Cotswold Museum

One of the hit films of 2009 will come to the Corinium Museum this spring when British blockbuster ‘Slumdog Millionaire' is shown at the venue in May.

The hit movie - which won eight Oscar awards after it was released in January - comes to the Cirencester museum on Saturday May 30th and Sunday May 31st as part of the Rural Cinema Scheme. Both showings will start at 2.15pm.

An Art Festival for Cheltenham

Every two years, the creative energy and vision of artists living in or around Cheltenham, becomes visible through an event organised solely by volunteers with a passion for the arts. Formerly known as Cheltenham Artists Open Houses, this popular inclusive event is to be given a boost in 2009 with the re-branding of the event as Cheltenham Art Festival & Open Studios.

Cheltenham artist Dan’s daily daub is an inspiration

Cheltenham artist, Dan Young has started on a quest to produce a painting every day for the next 12 months.

The art technician and short course leader who works at the University of Gloucestershire, has produced over 60 mini oil paintings of still life objects that have a relevance to his day since he began his project on 24 November

Viewfinder Film Festival 2009 in Gloucestershire

The fifth Viewfinder Film Festival will be taking place in March 2009 celebrating great cinema, with screenings and events taking place throughout Gloucestershire. The Festival is inviting submission of films made by a student, amateur or professional filmmaker who currently lives in Gloucestershire and the film must be either produced or shot within Gloucestershire.
