Multi sports for children with disabilities given a boost in north Cotswolds

Multi-sports opportunities for children and young people with disabilities in the Cotswolds has been given a boost, thanks to a £1100 inclusion grant.

The 4us2 club, set up by Cotswold District Council to encourage young people with disabilities to take part in sport, received the money thanks to a grant from Gloucestershire County Council this spring.

Steve Edwards runs the Snowdonia Marathon-Marathon Number 458-just 6 days after 457

Steve ran the Snowdonia Marathon on Saturday 25th October 2008 and it was Marathon Number 458 in his world record challenge. The Snowdonia Marathon, now in its 26th year, was voted "Best UK Marathon" in 2007 and can attract over 1500 competitors. Steve ran with Bib number 459 for Bourton Roadrunners.

Steve Edwards completes marathon 457 and runs through injury pain

On Sunday 19th October 2008 Moreton-in-Marsh based Steve Edwards ran marathon number 457 - The Leicester Marathon in the City - in his world record attempt to run 500 marathons by 2012 at an average time of under 3 hours 20 minutes.

Cotswolds MP Supports Gloucestershire’s Fair Trade Towns

All the celebrities, including the Bishop of Tewkesbury Rt Revd John Went, attended Christian Aid’s fundraising lunch to celebrate Wotton-under-Edge’s new status as a fair trade town. Christian Aid hosted a well attended and happy lunch to raise money for, and to celebrate the fact that Wotton-under-Edge is now one of the eight (shortly to become nine with Bourton-on-the-Water) designated fair trade towns in Gloucestershire.
