Enjoy a rural Christmas at the Old Prison

Following on from the successful open day held in August at the Old Prison, Northleach, the Friends of the Cotswolds are organising a rural themed Christmas event to take place on the afternoon of Sunday 2 December to help raise funds for the Old Prison Appeal.

For the first time, the Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded a unique partnership of conservation organisations including the Cotswolds Conservation Board - led by Plantlife - funds to plan a national natural heritage project to protect and conserve the UK's remaining fragments of meadows. Nearly 7.5 million acres have been lost so far and they are still being destroyed.

Westonbirt Arboretum in TREE-D!

Fans of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum can now enjoy a virtual visit around the historic tree collection with a new 3D and full colour 2D film.

Produced by Gloucestershire filmmakers iworkfilms, £2 from the sale of each DVD will go to the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum, the registered charity that supports the Forestry Commission at the arboretum.

CNAAG are holding a Stargazing Night on Saturday 20th October

Chipping Norton Amateur Astronomy Group (CNAAG) are holding a 'Stargazing Night' at Long Compton Sports & Social Club sports ground on Saturday 20th October starting at 6.30pm until 9.00pm. 
The public will get a chance to look at the moon, jupiter, the milky way, summer triangle, and the andromeda galaxy to name just a few.
