Chorley’s are delighted to be offering a good collection of Old Master
and British pictures in their Thursday 10th December sale.
Eleven paintings come from Penarth in South Wales. They belonged to the
late Millicent Hope Bovey who had inherited a very large collection of
Old Master and British Paintings from the estate of Mr R.W. Pettigrew.
Chorley’s forthcoming sale on Thursday, 10th December 2009 at 10.30am includes a number of books of local interest. Most famous of these are the Histories of Gloucestershire by Sir Robert Atkyns (1647-1711) and Samuel Rudder (1726-1801).
Recent years have seen the demise of the house sale owing to a number of considerations, not least the lack of suitable properties coming onto the market.
