Guild of Handicraft works with contemporary ceramicist for the first time in over 100 years

Not since C. R. Ashbee, the founder of the Guild of Handicraft (est.1888) and ceramicist William De Morgan produced a few very special commissions at the turn of the 20th century has the Guild worked with a contemporary potter.

Hit movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ comes to Cotswold Museum

One of the hit films of 2009 will come to the Corinium Museum this spring when British blockbuster ‘Slumdog Millionaire' is shown at the venue in May.

The hit movie - which won eight Oscar awards after it was released in January - comes to the Cirencester museum on Saturday May 30th and Sunday May 31st as part of the Rural Cinema Scheme. Both showings will start at 2.15pm.

Past and present writing styles on show at Cotswold Museum

Writing styles from ancient times to the modern day are explored at the Corinium Museum next month through a calligraphy exhibition.

‘The Long Tradition' exhibition, being held at the Cirencester museum from May 9th - June 21st, will examine the development of western calligraphy, studying early Greek writing through to modern computer-designed letters and forms.
