Marathon Number 453- Steve Edwards completes his 18th Shakespeare Marathon

Cotswolds based Steve Edwards has completed marathon number 453 in his world record challenge to complete 500 marathons in an average time of under 200 minutes- 3 hours 20 minutes. Marathon number 453 was completed in 3 hours 12 minutes and 57 seconds - so Steve is well on target and for once this was a local marathon so he didn't have to spend hours travelling as well as hours running.

Steve Edwards completes the Flora London Marathon - Marathon Number 452

Sunday April 13th Cotswolds based Steve Edwards added another marathon to his name in his world record challenge to complete 500 marathons by 2012. He completed the big one - The Flora London Marathon 2008 - in 3 hours, 2 minutes and 35 seconds, well within his challenge time target. Well done Steve.

Ebrington in the Cotswolds celebrates St. George's Day with a Family Lunch

Sunday 20th April 12.30 for 13.00 Ebrington Village Hall,Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire

St. George is the patron saint of England and St. Georges Day is April 23rd but Ebrington are celebrating the Day on the nearest Sunday with a traditional Sunday Family Lunch. Dress is an optional English Theme but it is certainly the day for having a red rose in your button hole whatever you wear.

Much Ado About Nothing at Hatherop Castle

The Cotswold Arcadians is a theatre group based in south-east Gloucestershire who stage large scale, open-air Shakesperian productions.

They have been producing these productions since 1991 and this year they have chosen one of Shakespeare's most popular love stories "Much Ado About Nothing."

The light-hearted plot hinges on lovers united and divided, a touch of villainy, the seemingly simple and ignorant uncovering of dark deeds, and ultimately,reconciliation all round.

Ebrington resident Professor Stanley Wells awarded CBE

Professor Stanley Wells was awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for Services to Literature.

Professor Wells is a Shakespeare scholar who has been studying and writing about the Bard for most of his life and is known as the international leading authority on Shakespeare.

Romeo and Juliet - The Hidcote Play

The Hidcote Play returns with an outdoor performance of Romeo and Juliet performed by the The Lord Chamberlain's Men.
