Budding film-makers, journalists and radio producers will have the opportunity to sample campus life on a three-day media residential course at the University of Gloucestershire this summer.
Year 12 pupils are invited to apply for the University's first media residential at the Pittville Studios campus which takes place between 1 - 3 July. Depending on their interests, students can try out their practical skills in areas such as radio production, digital film production or popular music. Students will have the chance to record their vocals in a professional studio, make digital films or take part in live broadcasts in the radio studio.
During their stay, students will have access to all the usual facilities on campus, such as the refectory, teaching facilities, and will stay in their own en-suite room in a hall of residence. Current students and staff will be on hand to share the realities of student life and answer any questions. Evening entertainment and social activities will be part of the fun, overseen by the University's outreach team.
Outreach officer, Claire Benjamin said: "This is a unique opportunity for students to get to live and study with us, and clear away any confusion they might have about things like paying for university and student loans.
"It's an intense few days but by the end they should have more of an idea about what university has to offer and the direction they want to take their studies."
