Prime Minister Responds to Cotswolds MP over National Star College

Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown has today received a letter from the Prime Minister with regards to the funding of the National Star College, nearly 5 months after the MP raised the issue in Prime Ministers Question Time – and nearly three months after Mr Clifton-Brown wrote to the Prime Minister detailing the importance of the College to disabled students across the country and asking him to use his “influence on this matter and ensure that the College is removed from this period of uncertainty and ensure that the funding is approved.”
Commenting today on the letter Mr Clifton-Brown said “There is very little new contained in the correspondence from the Prime Minister, certainly nothing more than I am aware of through my contact with Kevin Brennan MP, the Further Education Minister. What is most disappointing is that it has taken so long for this to be communicated back to me.  I would be criticised if I took this long to respond to one constituent, and yet this is in issue affecting people nationwide, resulting from a lack of funds across Whitehall caused by this Government, yet there is not a single mention of the word ‘sorry’”
