Gary Hodges: Drawn to the soul at Nature in Art

Nature in Art Museum is pleased to announce its exhibition “Drawn to the Soul”, a 25 year retrospective of the art of Gary Hodges. This will be the first time over 40 original Hodges pencil drawings will have been assembled together, borrowed back from collectors.

His limited edition prints have been highly sought after for many years With one of his first limited editions (of 850 prints) which originally sold for £8.50 exchanging hands for £3,500. He has sold over 105,000 l/e prints from 122 editions and his popularity has attracted many accolades, including the once-in-a-life-time “Best selling Published Artist” award from the Fine Art Trade Guild, placing him alongside artists such as Beryl Cook, John Vettriano and Mackenzie Thorpe.

Nature in Art is the world’s first museum and art gallery dedicated to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature. The growing collection embraces work by artists originating from over 60 countries and cultures, the oldest item being a byzantine mosaic, some 1500 years old and includes works from Pablo Picasso, Jan van Kessel (younger), and Keulemans.

The exhibition was opened by respected wildlife campaigner and actress Virginia McKenna.
