Textile talent come to Cotswold Museum next month

A collection of colourful and interesting images will come to the Corinium Museum next month when the Park Street venue hosts the Decadence textile exhibition.
Decadence – which starts on the first weekend of October – has been created by a group of textile artists called ‘Beyond the Green’, who met while studying at Wiltshire College in Calne.

The group produce eclectic and diverse work, either in a representational form or by shape, pattern and texture, and use a mix of traditional stitching methods and experimental ideas to create two and three dimensional work.  All their work features a wide choice of colour which helps to convey a mood or idea.

In this six-week exhibition, the group explore the word decadence, using it as a source of inspiration to create extravagant and decorative pieces of work, while also considering the implications of the word itself.

The exhibition runs from Saturday October 4th to Sunday November 16th.  Visitors can pay £1 to see the exhibition only, while entry to the Museum and exhibition will cost £3.95 for adults or £2 for children.  Students can get in for £2.50, while Senior Citizens will pay £3.10.
