Cotswold MP takes messages and hats to 10 Downing Street London

Geoffrey Clifton-Brown Cotswold MP handed messages to 10 Downing Street last Thursday to mark the end of Save the Children’s ‘Knit One, Save One’ campaign. Over 40,000 personal messages were delivered to the Prime Minister from knitters across the country.

At the event Mr Clifton-Brown said “I was delighted to be able to join Save the Children’s ‘Knit One, Save One’ campaign.”
“There can be nothing more tragic than for a young mother to see her child die from a preventable disease. These woolly hats will help to protect new born babies from catching pneumonia and therefore this is a very worthwhile cause.”

He went on to say “I want to thank each and every person who took the time to knit a hat, their actions really have made a difference.”

Adrian Lovett, Director of Campaigns and Communications for Save the Children said “We have been overwhelmed by the response. We’ve received over 650,000 hats which we have now sent to more than fifteen countries where large numbers of children are dying, including Tibet, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan”
