Bath & Wells 1100th Birthday Celebrations
Venue: Glastonbury Abbey

In what was the biggest event for the Bath & Wells diocese since it’s inception, Wild Duck Productions chose Central Presentations as their event partner to deliver all of the audio visual technical requirements across the site for this huge event.

The setting was the beautiful grounds of Glastonbury Abbey, where CPL were to setup three performance areas. The first was a main covered stage to house a variety of acts ranging from a 65 person choir to jazz acts and dance troupes. CPL used an EV line arary system to provide sound reinforcement to the 7500 strong crowd, delivering clear and punchy sounds. In addition CPL also provided all onstage monitoring, as well as multiple camera recordings to be used in post production for a souvenir DVD.

On top of this was an “in the round” performance area for up to 2000 people. The performance took place within the actual ruins of the Abbey. CPL provided a discrete PA system positioned around the ruins to provide audio for the audience, who were free to roam the performance area. The soundtrack for the performance was delivered by a live micro-orchestra, positioned on a stage to one side of the area for which CPL Provided monitors and full technical support.

In partnership with Wild Duck Productions, CPL successfully had the whole event rigged and running within two days, and the day itself was a fantastic success. Both our client and all of the visitors had a great day that will not be forgotten. The technical team for the event worked tirelessly to produce this amazing show.
