It’s not often that you see a three-seat sofa, coffee table, rug and curtains decorating a local train station, but from Monday to Wednesday last week three stations in Wiltshire will be given a little taste of ‘home’.
With just one week to go until the opening of John Lewis at home in Swindon, commuters across the county can put up their feet and relax in style as they wait for their trains.
John Lewis at Home: Chippenham StationThe John Lewis at home ‘Take a Seat’ roadshow was visiting platform three at Swindon station on Monday 18 October, Chippenham station on Tuesday 19 October and Kemble station on Wednesday 20 October.
Branch manager Dominic Joyce says: “After months of preparation the shop is almost ready to be revealed. The roadshow is our first opportunity to meet the community and those who travel in and out of the town each day for work.”

180 new full and part time Partners (staff) have been recruited from the local area to work in the new shop and have undertaken extensive training over the summer to prepare them for the opening and busy Christmas period.
