What jobs are in Lambeth?
Lambeth is a borough in Central London that is quickly developing into a business and cultural hub. Along the River Thames is a pedestrianised area running next to the River Thames called the ‘South Bank’, which is a great destination for tourists and locals alike. This area includes cultural draws such as the Southbank Centre and the National Theatre, where actors, singers, lighting technicians and set designers can find opportunities.

Other tourist attractions such as the London Eye, London Dungeons and London Aquarium are also found along the Southbank, providing lots of employment. There is a great range of restaurants as well, taking advantage of the high footfall of people enjoying the great views of the city of London along this walkway. Cultural events, Street performances and the annual Christmas market all make the Southbank a destination for tourists and locals throughout the year, providing employment opportunities. The Oval cricket ground is located in Kennington and is home to the Surrey County Cricket team and international matches. These events draw huge crowds and offer employment for security staff, chefs and waiting staff.

The NHS is also a large provider, hiring doctors and nurses at St Thomas’ Hospital. Brixton, home of Lambeth Town Hall and the Brixton Murals has become a food and cultural space. Pop Brixton and Brixton Village have many independent food stands and restaurants, hiring talented chefs and bartenders. With endless music venues and the area, producers and musicians can always find gigs at pubs, clubs and rooftop bars.

What is it like living in Lambeth?
The diversity of the borough of Lambeth is not matched anywhere else. From the tourist areas of Waterloo to the cultural bustle of Brixton. Lambeth has everything for everyone. House prices in Clapham Common tend to be a lot higher than in Kennington and Loughborough Junction due to the many private schools and open spaces. Average house prices in Lambeth are close to the London average, which is around £570,000. It is possible to find many properties, from family-friendly homes in more suburban areas such as West Norwood to fancy apartments at Waterloo.
