Newport is the centrally located county town of the Isle of Wight. The Island is just 4 miles from the British coast, with boats running daily from Portsmouth. Newport has a large shopping area, so the retail and wholesale industry is a major employer in the area. Retail assistants and sales consultants can find careers here. Surrounded by the ocean, tourism is a large part of the local economy.
