What jobs are in Tower Hamlet?
Canary Wharf is only second to the City of London in business and financial importance. Businesses include Reuters, Credit Suisse, Barclays, American Express, to name a few. Financial analysts, bankers and stockbrokers can find the perfect opportunities in the borough. At the other end of the spectrum is the chaos of Shoreditch, Hackney and Bethnal Green. Tower Hamlets has everything from the traditional curry houses, hiring chefs and waiters, to the independent shops selling accessories and vintage clothing. Meaning retail assistants and store managers can also find plenty of opportunities in the borough. 

Old Spitalfield Market has chefs and innovators set up in this diverse area. Brick Lane and Spitalfields have endless pubs and bars where talented bartenders can apply. Conservators and receptionists can find jobs at the V&A Museum of Childhood, the Geffrye Museum and the Ragged School Museum. The tourism industry is a huge part of the local economy thanks to the Tower of London. Bethnal Green’s Working Men’s Club hires DJs and musicians to play at its venue. The borough is also home to the macabre Jack the Ripper Tours.

Tower Hamlet is the epitome of a gentrified haven for art students and creatives. It is a melting pot of variety, from thrift shoppers on Brick Lane to the flower market held on Sundays in Columbia Road. The borough is hugely diverse, with almost half the population being from an ethnic minority background, which brings an endless variety of restaurants. The average house price in the borough is £530,000.
