Pedigree Whippet Racing – 4th Championship Meeting

14th October Sunday – Moreton in Marsh Cricket Club

The Whippet Club Racing Association (WCRA) are holding their fourth (and last for 2008) Championship Meeting at Moreton in Marsh Cricket Club.

This meeting is a bend championship event over a 240 yard horseshoe bend track. The dogs run in weight groups – not exceeding 16lbs upto not exceeding 32lbs- on a knockout basis with the first two dogs in each race going through to the next round.

A whippet must win two of these championship events to become a “Racing Champion” and earn that title.
Spectators are welcome and there is no charge for admission. However there is no betting allowed and no prize money awarded.It is a purely amateur sport and the only prize to be won is a rosette or a trophy.

Whippet Racing is administered on behalf of the Whippet Club by the Whippet Club Racing Association(WCRA) and there are 16 clubs affiliated to the WRCA geographically spread from Scotland to Cornwall.
Club racing is designed to be fun and to accomodate all standards and a programme of racing lasts about four hours.

Come along to Moreton in Marsh on Sunday14th October and watch something different.
