Recycling boost for north Cotswold residents

Keen recyclers in the north Cotswolds have received a welcome boost from Council officials. Gloucestershire residents have been given official confirmation that they can use the Household Recycling Centre at Shipston-on-Stour, which is just across the county border in Warwickshire.

That is particularly good news for people living in the north of the Cotswold District, in and around the likes of Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh, who live much closer to Shipston-on-Stour than their nearest facility in Gloucestershire.

“We are delighted that there is now a formal agreement with Warwickshire County Council for residents to use the centre at Shipston-on-Stour,” said Cotswold District Council Waste Manager Scott Williams.

“A large range of materials, including electrical goods, scrap metal and timber, can be recycled at these centres and Shipston is a much more convenient destination for people living in the north of our District than any of the Household Recycling Centres in Gloucestershire.”

Residents taking waste to Shipston-on-Stour are not allowed to use a van, pick-up or trailer unless they have a permit. For further details, contact Warwickshire County Council on 01926 412593 or at
