1,000 jobs to be created in France by Envision

There is a worldwide race on for car manufacturers to be at the forefront of the competitive market of environmentally clean vehicles. This technology shift has lead to the need to build battery cell plants across Europe. China's Envision AESC has announced plans to build an electric car battery plant in Douai in northern France. This will create at least 1,000 new jobs which are needed as the car industry is currently undergoing many changes either through Covid 19 affecting sales to the loss of many traditional jobs in the industry.

Wind energy could generate 3.3 million jobs worldwide within five years

Governments around the world are setting targets for countries to reduce emissions and increase reliance on renewable energy. According to the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) the increase in reliance on wind as a renewable energy source could provide an extra 470 gigawatts of power between 2021 and 2025 so leading to 3.3 million jobs being created in the next five years.

New Manchester arena ‘Co-op Live’ will create 3,350 construction jobs

Construction has started on Manchester's Co-op Live arena a brand new 23,500-seater venue next to the Etihad Football Stadium. The £350m build is set to be the UK's biggest entertainment arena and it will "kickstart" a wave of economic activity and job creation in the North West region. The project developer OVG real Estate said that on average Co-op Live’s construction site will have 400 people working on it daily.

Green Alliance report encourages government investment in green jobs post pandemic

A Green Alliance think tank report says 16,000 'green creation' jobs could help employment in the areas of Britain worse hit by job losses due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The new jobs would be created by restoring nature and planting trees in areas where unemployment will increase when the government’s furlough schemes end. These include urban areas where people have little access to green space, coastal areas and also “red wall” areas in the north of England that were Labour strongholds.

Merseyside locals slam Amazon development and ask ‘where are the jobs?’

When Amazon applied for permission to build a huge "sortation" center in the former pit village Haydock in Merseyside, the local council supported the scheme because of the promised 2,500 jobs that would be created, despite it being built on green belt land.
