Uber looking to recruit additional 20,000 drivers in the UK

Uber has announced it is looking to employ another 20,000 drivers in the UK by the end of 2021, this will increase the platform’s driver network to 90,000 and is due to a surge in demand since lockdown rules were eased last month.

Nestle closing UK’s Fawdon site putting 600 jobs at risk

It is shutting a factory in Fawdon in the north east of England and shifting production to two other factories in York and Halifax, where it has invested 29.4 million pounds ($40.8 million). These two factories manufacture some of the chocolate maker’s biggest brands and York is also the base for Nestle Confectionery’s global R&D center. The site in Fawdon will close by 2023.
